Tri-County Poverty Symposium

Tri-County Community Action Partnership held two Poverty Symposiums -- one in Cumberland County and one in Salem County. Over 300 people attended these symposiums to discuss solutions to local poverty problems. In addition to statistics and stories about poverty, the symposium generated meaningful reports from work groups on inter-connected poverty issues.

The groups, comprised of low-income individuals who receive services, community members and health and social service providers, met for two days to develop goals, strategies and measurable outcomes to address poverty issues. Findings from these eight groups are posted as originally submitted. To access these findings, click on the link below. Findings will be reviewed and updated on an on-going basis prior to submission to elected officials for their review.

It is Tri-County’s hope that these findings will help direct our elected officials to better serve those in poverty in our area. The eight work groups' reports are accessible here. All reports represent work from the original symposium until updates are made. As files are updated, the date of the update will appear in italics next to the link for the report (see below).
